Caterfire are fully authorised installers of the Ansul R102 kitchen fire suppression system. Its important to ensure that any installer is an authorised installer otherwise your Ansul warranty will be void and you may encounter insurance difficulties.
The installation process involves securing the stainless steel cabinets that house the tanks to the wall high near the ceiling usually adjacent to the end of canopy. the system does not require a power supply or water supply as it is self contained.
Pipe work in stainless steel will be run from the cabinets to the canopy and where possible will be hidden above the ceiling. This supply pipe will branch out to supply nozzles over the appliances as well as in the plenum and ducts.
A detection line will also be run through EMT (galvanised conduit) through a series of pulley elbows through to the detectors which are sited over ducts and appliances. This detection line is a high tensile steel cable running the full length of the canopy
Also in EMT a line will be run to a pull station that will be fixed to the wall near to the canopy or on a major escape route.
After installation full simulated firing tests are carried out and the system is fully commissioned. Finally a certificate to UL300 and NFPA 96 will be issued
Installations are usually completed in one day although larger systems can take longer.
